Bartender

We are a busy midtown Irish bar and restaurant looking for a reliable and experienced bartender. Previous experience necessary.

Duties:

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations on drink selections
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol consumption
- Handle cash transactions and operate a cash register
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcohol
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or disruptive behavior
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage orders for customers
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a timely manner

Requirements:

- 2 years experience in New York City Bar / Restaurant Required

- Authorization to work in the US
- Knowledge of retail math principles for handling cash transactions accurately
- Strong hospitality skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Familiarity with food service and the food industry
- Proficient in cash handling procedures, including making change, processing credit card payments, and balancing cash drawers
- Understanding of brewing techniques and familiarity with different types of alcoholic beverages
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for calculating drink prices, handling tips, and managing inventory levels
- Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
