Located at 4935 River Road in the New Hope/Point Pleasant area, Dharma Bums is a cozy space with a nod to the past, a simpler time, when people gathered to listen to music and read poetry over good food and drink. Our special spot, formerly known as Applejacks and then The Local, rests on the bank of the Delaware River Canal, just a short walk from the Tohickon creek valley and High Rocks Vista. We offer an inventive menu of vegetarian bar fare with an asian flare. Our draught beer selection is sourced locally and complemented by carefully crafted cocktails.

We are seeking dependable, hard working, individuals for night and weekend work. High volume service experience is preferred. Dharma Bums will also provide a training program that ensures continued success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interact with customers for order taking and serving food/drinks

Make cocktails and serve beer and wine in accordance with recipes, glassware, and service protocol outlined during training and Dharma Bums philosophy

Restock and replenish bar stations, inventory, and supplies, according to predetermined lists

Stay guest-focused to provide an excellent experience throughout their time at Dharma Bums

Check customers’ identification and confirm legal drinking age

Assess customers’ needs and preferences in order to make recommendations when necessary or requested

Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

Issue bills and accept payment

Prepare the bar in accordance with restaurant policy, including thoroughly cleaning and resetting after end of guest dining

Knowledge of all menu items and beverages served

Keep the bar area clean and organized at all times

Follow pre-set opening, closing, and continuous side work to ensure proper operation of restaurant

REQUIREMENTS:

Food & Restaurant experience

Knowledge of cocktail recipes, spirits, beer styles, and wine varietals

Knowledge of proper food safety handling

RAMP Certification a plus

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Collaborative skills

Upholding high standards

Hard Working, Punctual, Organized, Self-Starter

Ability to function as part of a team or individually

Standing for long periods of time

Physical ability to lift & carry up to and sometimes over 50lbs.

Willingness to learn and grow

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
