Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently using POS systems such as Toast.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly, energetic manner to ensure an enjoyable experience while taking orders, making recommendations, and answering questions about drinks and menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering strictly to food safety and food handling standards.
  • Manage cash handling responsibilities including cashiering duties, processing payments, and balancing registers at the end of shifts.
  • Monitor guest behavior to promote responsible drinking and ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff during catering or banquet events to coordinate food and beverage service seamlessly.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy hours while maintaining high-quality service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bartender. High volume, craft cocktails and a proven work ethic at a reputable bar in San Diego.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such Toast for order entry and transaction processing.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect positively with diverse clientele.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and drink mixing measurements.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus; retail math skills are beneficial for inventory management.
