Bartender – W XYZ Bar | Hotel Hospitality & Guest Experience

LOCATION: Aloft Cupertino | 10165 N De Anza Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014

SCHEDULE: Part-Time | Flexible Availability Required | Evenings, Weekends & Holidays May Be Required

PAY: $21 per hour plus tips

SUMMARY: Seeking an energetic, personable, and service-driven Bartender to join our W XYZ Bar team. This position is ideal for hospitality professionals who enjoy creating memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced, social, and upbeat hotel environment. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional customer service to hotel guests and bar patrons. The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about food and beverage service, and able to multitask effectively while maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Prepare, mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and service standards.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service with professionalism, hospitality, and enthusiasm.
  • Greet guests promptly, build rapport, and create a welcoming bar experience.
  • Take beverage and food orders while utilizing suggestive selling and upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor guest needs proactively and respond promptly to requests, concerns, and service recovery situations.
  • Utilize the Toast POS system for order entry, check presentation, and payment processing.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards throughout the bar, service areas, and guest seating spaces.
  • Restock liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies throughout the shift.
  • Conduct monthly bar inventory and assist with inventory tracking and organization.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all beverage offerings, menu items, specials, preparation methods, ingredients, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all California alcohol service laws, Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) requirements, and company policies regarding service to minors and intoxicated individuals.
  • Maintain positive guest relations while providing recommendations regarding hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership and food & beverage team members to support successful hotel and bar operations.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:

  • Previous bartender, bar service, restaurant, hospitality, or food & beverage experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, and beverage preparation techniques.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and guest service skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional personality with the ability to create engaging guest experiences.
  • Ability to remain organized and efficient in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort using POS systems; Toast POS experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of California liquor laws and responsible alcohol service standards required.
  • Food Handler Certification required.
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professionalism required.
  • ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, lift, and carry bar supplies, kegs, cases, glassware, and inventory weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
