Bartender

Job Summary
The main duties of the Birdtown Bartender include mixing and serving alcoholic beverages in accordance with the company’s specifications. Specialized functions and duties may include mixing ingredients for beverages like soda, fruit juice, water, and liquor to create alcoholic and non–alcoholic drinks. Bartenders at Birdtown are also expected to socialize with bar guests to create a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. Bartenders will also serve guests food and drinks and must complete all the assigned tasks from opening to closing their duty shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and flair, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously.
• Manage POS systems such as Toast POS for order entry, billing, and cash handling accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Handle cash transactions efficiently, balancing registers at shift end while ensuring accuracy in retail math and cash handling procedures.
• Assist in setting up bar stations for special events like banquets or catering functions, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless service during peak hours in nightclubs or busy restaurant environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a bartender with hospitality or food service background preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS; previous cashiering or cash handling experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy shifts.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly for sales transactions, tips, and inventory counts.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that enhances guest experiences.
• Knowledge of beverage preparation techniques including brewing coffee or tea when applicable; cocktail mixing skills are highly valued.
