Bartender

Ocotillo is a brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner restaurant, opened in April 2024, located in the West End of Portland, Maine open 7-days a week! We are looking to grow our year-round bartending team!
The Ocotillo Bar Program is driven by fresh juices, beach- side inspired cocktails that shadow the vibrant, bright and light energy of the restaurants ambiance and food menu.
We are looking for someone with previous bartending experience. Ideally, at a high-volume restaurant setting.
You embrace our philosophy of "Home-Style Hospitality" where we welcome all as though we are welcoming them to our home for the first time.
This position includes weekends and early-mornings with flexibility to split your schedule with PM availabilities.
The role of the bartender is someone who has a natural ability to be soft, lead with kindness and compassion. This person comes with at least 5-years of front of house restaurant experience, at least +5-years of bartending and serving experience.
You have a passion for SW and Mexican influenced brunch food concepts and help promote our programs. You have a love for agave... And, working with a state of the art espresso machine, is something to lean into and have fun with. You treat the beautiful, efficient bar with respect and help to maintain its investments.
You lead by example and help spread positivity in the workplace.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

- Executing the beautiful bar and bar program with grace, positivity and hospitable engagement together as a team!
- You communicate effectively proactively with the Bar Manager with pertinent needs and ongoing, day to day happenings to ensure smooth flow of service.
- You participate in menu meeting / opening with the FOH Manager and Servers when opening.
- When closing you are ensuring that that bar is broken down and closed up completely while working efficiently and with total respect for the tip pool.
- Be the mentor to others to welcome curiosity, engagement and enthusiasm to the bar program - Build rapport with customers- All are welcome!
- Support positivity and a safe and healthy workspace behind the bar and with the team!

Compensation: Ocotillo is a full-house tip pool.
We believe that we all fall and rise together as 1-Team!
- We guarantee no less than $18/hr at any time, year-round. The base hourly rate is $16.75/HR. + the maximum 10-points in the tip pool. Earnings/Hr. range from $28/hr-$40/hr.
