Bartender

Job Summary

In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face that guides guests through their culinary journey, ensuring exceptional service from start to finish. Your ability to manage the well, your guests at the bar, upsell menu items, and maintain a positive attitude will contribute to a lively and welcoming atmosphere. At Ultreia, bartenders do not just make drinks and serve guests at the bar. They participate with the rest of the team helping where needed. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your bartending skill, wine knowledge and hospitality skills in a dynamic setting. Here at Ultreia, we are a small, but mighty team. Everyone from The Dishwasher to the chef/owner works the floor and line to make every guest experience is an outstanding one!

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of menu items and specials.
  • Make drinks in the well for bar guests and the guests seated at tables.
  • Discuss our unique beverage offerings ample options with guests seated at bar.
  • Take accurate orders using Toast POS systems, ensuring all dietary restrictions and preferences are noted.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  • Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
  • Manage multiple tables with excellent time management, ensuring prompt service and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery; assist with bussing tables as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized bar in compliance with sanitation standards; support food handling and food safety protocols.
  • Use reservation platforms like OpenTable to manage guest seating efficiently and optimize table turnover.
  • Provide outstanding guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience is highly preferred, especially in fine dining.
  • Familiarity with Toast POS systems; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell effectively while maintaining professionalism.
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits and beer.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle busy service periods smoothly.
  • Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous for understanding food preparation processes.
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately for cashiering and transaction purposes.
  • Previous host/hostess or serving experience enhances guest relations capabilities.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
