Position Overview
The Bartender works directly with residents and guests by preparing and serving beverages while delivering exceptional customer service and hospitality. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar while creating a positive dining and social experience within the community.
The ideal candidate is friendly, engaging, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality and resident satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with community standards
Verify age requirements and responsibly serve alcoholic beverages
Maintain knowledge of classic cocktails, beverage pairings, and drink preparation techniques
Provide outstanding customer service and respond to resident and guest requests promptly and professionally
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar and work areas
Ensure bar supplies and inventory are properly stocked and organized
Coordinate with dining team members to maintain smooth service and dining room appearance
Assist servers with beverage orders and support dining operations as needed
Clear tables and assist with dining room upkeep during and after meal service
Follow presentation standards and maintain a polished, professional appearance
Promote a warm, inviting, and hospitality-focused dining atmosphere
Follow all community policies, procedures, and Residents’ Rights guidelines
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned
Complete additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
BASSET/VASA alcohol-service training required
Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred
Knowledge of beverage preparation, cocktails, and customer service standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to maintain organization and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry trays, supplies, and bar items as needed
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and team members
Ability to work under pressure in a busy hospitality environment
Additional Requirements
Ability to comply with community health and safety requirements
Participation in health screenings or vaccinations as required by state or community guidelines, including approved exemptions where applicable
