Job Summary:
The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for mixing and serving drinks to guests at the bar and in the dining area. They ensure guests have a positive and enjoyable experience by providing excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar, and adhering to all beverage laws and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly conversation.
- Take drink orders from guests and servers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide recommendations on beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Serve drinks in a timely manner and check on guest satisfaction.
Drink Preparation & Presentation:
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the bar menu, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and craft beers.
- Accurately measure and serve alcohol while adhering to portion control and legal regulations.
- Prepare bar areas for service by stocking garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies.
Cash Handling & Billing:
- Process payments using the POS system, including cash and credit transactions.
- Accurately handle guest tabs, issue receipts, and ensure proper cash management.
- Keep track of inventory used and report any discrepancies to management.
Bar Setup & Maintenance:
- Ensure the bar is clean and well-organized throughout the shift.
- Restock bar supplies, liquor, mixers, and other items as needed.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning bar equipment and surfaces.
- Comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
Inventory & Stock Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of liquor, beer, wine, and other bar supplies.
- Assist in placing orders for new stock, tracking usage, and preventing shortages.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and prevent wastage.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with servers, bussers, and other restaurant staff to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and wait staff regarding orders and guest requests.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
