Bartender

Job Summary
We are opening a new taproom in Millwork Commons! We're looking for people who love craft beer enjoy talking to people about it. The Bartender (Tap Room Server) position will be focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere and providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive service that will create an exceptional experience for guests. This team member will be responsible for describing, selling, and pouring Rally Cap brews (and other beverages), while serving as an “expert” on the company and our products.

Duties

• Be timely and dependable.
• Provide the highest level of customer service, ensuring guests have a positive memorable experience.
• Serve guests beer and other beverages, often during peak and high volume periods, ensuring customers are well-taken care of in a timely manner.
• Absorb and communicate detailed information around a frequently-changing beer menu.
• Actively anticipate guests’ needs and address issues in a proactive, appropriate manner.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
• Perform transactions accurately and efficiently via Square POS.
• Perform opening/closing tasks and sidework duties as a self-starter.
• Communicate well with other team members to deliver the best quality beer and improve operational issues.
• Recognize and potentially address, with the assistance of management, intoxicated, disruptive, or threatening patrons.
• Actively participate in company promotions and events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work under pressure, calmly but with a sense of urgency.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work a variable schedule, potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work as a “team player,” maintaining open and honest communication with colleagues and management.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend, and stoop for up to eight hours per shift.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs frequently and move kegs weighing 125 lbs. infrequently

Qualification & Education Requirements:

• Strong customer service and relationship building skills
• Experience in a bar / beverage environment and experience with craft beer is a plus, but not required
• Must be 21 or older.
• Must be able to work a part-time schedule, including weekends and evenings, as well as possible events in our tasting room.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money.
• Be a team player.
• Have a passion for craft beer.
• Possess strong organizational skills.
