Bartender (Full-Time)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and personable full-time Bartender to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott Boston/Natick. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. This role requires adherence to all health regulations and local liquor laws while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere at the bar. The ideal candidate will follow CSM and brand standards to ensure exceptional guest service and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests in a courteous and friendly manner, creating a welcoming environment.
• Accurately and promptly take, enter, prepare, and deliver guest orders, adhering to established standards.
• Provide excellent guest service and respond promptly to guest needs.
• Operate the MICROS system and cash register efficiently, ensuring accurate handling of transactions.
• Follow all CSM/Brand cash handling and POS procedures to ensure correct closing of guest checks.
• Prepare beverages in accordance with recipes, and dispense appropriate levels of alcohol as per CSM/Brand standards.
• Ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws, checking guests' identification, and monitoring alcohol consumption.
• Assist servers and other team members as needed to meet guest requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the bar area by clearing tables, disposing of trash, restocking barware, and washing dishes.
• Complete and submit required paperwork in a timely manner, following CSM audit procedures.
• Support inventory management, including completing par sheets and assisting with stock control.
• Adhere to sanitation, health, and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow CSM/Brand procedures for handling guest or associate incidents and be familiar with hotel emergency protocols.
• Consistently demonstrate teamwork, helping where necessary to ensure smooth bar and restaurant operations.

Competencies/Skills Required:

• TIPS or CARE beverage service certification, or the ability to obtain certification as required.
• A minimum of one year of bartending experience, with a proven record of excellent customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to meet guest needs and complete necessary paperwork.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly during shifts.
• Occasionally required to lift and transport a keg weighing up to 150 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, carry, and perform physically demanding tasks continuously throughout the shift.
