About Max Lager's

Max Lager's Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery is a Downtown Atlanta institution. Opened in 1998 and housed in a historic 10,000-square-foot turn-of-the-century building on Peachtree Street, Max Lager's is Georgia's oldest independent brewpub — a place generations of Atlantans have gathered to eat, drink, and celebrate.

We brew our own beer on-site, including multiple Great American Beer Festival-winning recipes, and pair it with an American wood-fired menu built around steaks, burgers, seafood, ribs, and pizza pulled straight from the grill. The space blends exposed brick, copper brewing tanks, and warm wood beams with a rustic, industrial feel. Our upstairs bar features a 32-tap draft system and an expansive patio and deck overlooking Hardy Ivy Park — one of the best outdoor dining spots Downtown.

Max Lager's is one of three concepts in the Brewed To Serve Restaurant Group, alongside Bold Monk Brewing Co. and White Oak.

The Role

We're hiring an experienced bartender to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who has spent real time behind a high-volume bar, knows their way around craft beer and classic cocktails, and understands that the bar is often the first impression a guest has of the restaurant.

Our bartenders run cocktail and beer service for guests seated at the bar, execute drink tickets for the dining room and private events, and serve as the in-house experts on our house-brewed beer program and curated tap list. On a busy night Downtown — game days, pre-theater, conventions — you'll be moving. We expect our bartenders to move with composure, accuracy, and genuine hospitality.

Requirements

  • Holds themselves to a high standard with a strong work ethic
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn and grow
  • Lives by the principles of Unreasonable Hospitality
  • Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant, bar, or brewery
  • Solid craft beer knowledge — styles, service, glassware, and the ability to guide guests through a beer menu
  • Proficient with classic cocktails and spec execution
  • Comfort working at pace during peak service without sacrificing quality or guest experience
  • Current Georgia alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Available nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for long shifts and lift kegs and cases

Nice to Have

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server (or above)
  • Experience at a brewery or chef-driven restaurant
  • Familiarity with Toast POS

Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,500.00 per week
