Bartender - Old Scratch Pizza (Downtown Dayton)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bartender to provide an excellent customer experience. Good bartenders will provide timely, accurate and friendly service with preparing the highest quality beverages.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers genuinely in a warm, friendly and welcoming manner
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Runner/Busser duties as needed
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change if necessary.
• Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the bar
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
• Record drink orders accurately and immediately after having received them into the register system.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Take beverage orders from guests seated at the bar.
• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks.
• Arrange and maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation, promotion of beverages, and attractive displays.
• Recognize and learn the names of regular guests

Work Environment:

This job entails frequent exposure to high temperatures and extreme cold. There is frequent contact/immersion of hands in water and sanitation solutions; as well as contact with produce items, dairy products, and frequent allergen related items such as nuts, citrus, gluten, etc.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds, you will be required to stock inventory and supplies, and move equipment as needed.
• Have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, may be required to operate and use various kitchen equipment and tools.
• Ability to communicate and avoid dangerous situations.

It is important that applicants are able to meet these physical requirements to perform the duties of the job. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Must be able to maneuver in walk-in coolers and freezers.
