Job Summary

As a Bartender at Lafayette Club, you will be responsible for crafting and serving beverages to members and guests while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, and cleanliness. This position includes service at member bars, special events, weddings, and private functions. The ideal candidate is guest-focused, knowledgeable about classic and contemporary cocktails, and thrives in a collaborative, high-end service environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, attentive, and timely beverage service at bars, dining areas, and private events
• Prepare a wide range of classic and specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages
• Engage members and guests in a professional, welcoming manner while remembering preferences and building rapport
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area and adhere to safe alcohol service practices
• Follow opening and closing procedures, including inventory and restocking
• Assist with banquet bar setup, service, and breakdown for events and functions
• Uphold and model club appearance standards and service expectations
• Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service

Qualifications

• Prior bartending experience in a private club, restaurant, or upscale hospitality setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and mixology techniques
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Commitment to safe and responsible alcohol service (TIPS certification is a plus)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• This position requires availability on weekends and holidays
• This position offers an hourly rate plus gratuities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift)
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and carry bar supplies or trays
• Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, and performing repetitive motions
• Manual dexterity to operate bar tools, pour drinks, and handle glassware
• Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor bar settings during seasonal events
