Core Responsibilities
- Drink Preparation: Mixing, garnishing, and serving beverages according to recipes or customer requests.
- Customer Service: Greeting guests, making recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Safety and Compliance: Checking identification to verify legal age and monitoring intoxication levels.
- Bar Maintenance: Cleaning glasses, utensils, and bar surfaces, as well as keeping the area stocked.
- Operations: Processing cash and card payments using POS systems, and managing inventory.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience as a bartender or in a high-paced customer service role is often required.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of mixology, classic cocktails, and wine/beer pairings.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy items (e.g., kegs, crates).
- Licenses: Compliance with local regulations, such as food safety, alcohol service certifications (e.g., TIPs).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, multitasking, and a friendly, engaging personality.
Work Environment
- Often requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fast-paced, high-pressure environment, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
