Bartender/Server

La Porta Restaurant and Bar is seeking a motivated, energetic and reliable Bartender/Server to join our team! This individual needs to be truly passionate about hospitality, food, spirits and Sacramento’s restaurant scene.

Bartender/Server Job Duties:

• Prepare and serve drinks to customers following standard recipes
• Interact with customers, take drink orders, and provide recommendations
• Take food orders and run food
• Work to expand bar menu, providing recommendations for featured cocktails and bar bites
• Take bar inventory, as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area
• Serve customers table side on the floor
• Check customers' identification and confirm legal drinking age
• Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
• Upsell additional products when appropriate
• Collaborate with the front of house and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
• Work on "Up-Selling" procedures and sales goals
• Provide insight on operational changes to improve overall efficiency

Bartender/Server Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in bartending and serving
• Knowledge of upscale and casual dining, retail math, and cash handling
• Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale system
• Experience in banquet or food industry setting
• Strong sales skills and the ability to engage customers effectively
• Understanding of various alcoholic beverages

Pay: $16.90 per hour plus tips
