Bartender/Server- Restaurant

Smokin’ J’s BBQ is seeking friendly, energetic, and customer focused individuals to join our FOH team in Downtown San Diego. We are hiring part-time (with the possibility of full-time) bartenders who are willing to serve tables. Must have the energy to make our customers feel like the luckiest customers in San Diego when they dine with us.

Pay is $17.75/hr plus tips. Tips range from $6/hr up to $20/hr

Responsibilities:

• Opening and/or closing procedures
• Keeping all areas of the front clean and organized
• Taking orders, handling the POS system (Toast) and cash drawer
• Getting non-alcoholic beverages for guests
• Running food and bussing tables
• Ensuring the dining room stays clean and organized
• Making to-go cups for sauces, ketchup, and other condiments
• Answering general customer questions
• Taking phone orders
• Making milkshakes to order

Requirements:

• Minimum two years in customer service
• Strong organizational and team working skills
• Food Handlers or ServSafe Certified
• Attention to detail and cleanliness

Physical Requirements:

• Walking and standing for 5-8 hour shifts
• Occasional bending
