Role Overview

We are seeking a Basement Drafter / Designer to play a key role in both the sales and construction phases of our projects. This position supports the Sales Team, Project Managers, and Construction Managers by creating clear, accurate, and build-ready drawings used for client approvals, permit submittals, and construction execution.

This role is primarily in-office, with occasional on-site visits as needed to verify existing conditions, gather field information, or support the construction team.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)

• Independently producing accurate, professional basement floor plans
• Supporting the sales process with clear, creative and thoughtful layout designs
• Creating finalized construction drawings suitable for permit submittals
• Delivering clean, easy-to-read plans for field teams and subcontractors
• Maintaining standardized details and drawing conventions across all projects
• Reducing revisions, RFIs, and job site confusion
• Collaborating effectively across sales, design, and construction teams

Core Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Sales Team to create floor plans and layout designs for new clients and prospective projects
• Develop and revise basement plans based on client feedback, site conditions, and field notes
• Create finalized construction drawings for: Permit submittals, Construction team use, Subcontractor reference
• Incorporate structural elements, walls, doors, bathrooms, wet bars, and other design features
• Assist with electrical, lighting, and flooring layouts as needed
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure drawings align with scope, budget, and build-ability
• Maintain organized digital project files and version control
• Create, update, and maintain standardized plan details and drawing standards for consistent use across all projects
• Attend occasional job-site visits to verify measurements, existing conditions, or construction details
• Create and update full plan set templates for each building municipality

Skills & Experience

Required

• 1–3+ years of drafting or residential design experience
• Proficiency in drafting/design software (AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit, SketchUp, or similar)
• Understanding of basic residential building codes (IRC)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to interpret site measurements, construction notes, and scopes of work
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, revision-driven environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Experience in basement finishing or residential remodeling
• Familiarity with residential permitting processes
• Experience creating permit-ready construction drawings

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay Range: $55,000–$65,000 per year (DOE)
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
• Work Location: In-office (Denver Metro) with occasional job-site visits
