Grouse Hunt Farms is a specialty food manufacturer that produces a diverse portfolio of products, ranging from hand-packed pickled vegetables and farmstand varieties to jams, jellies, salsas, sauces, mustards and preserves. We manufacture a variety of proprietary brands, including Honeycup Mustard, Wos-Wit Pennsylvania Dutch Foods, Pickled Pink and BRINS jam, as well as private label and co-pack for large regional and national brands.

Position Summary:
The Batching Specialist is responsible for accurately weighing, staging, and organizing all ingredients required for production. This role ensures that all materials are prepared in advance, properly labeled, and stored in designated areas to support efficient and accurate production processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately weigh and measure ingredients according to production formulas and specifications
• Stage all required ingredients for upcoming production runs at least one day in advance
• Ensure all ingredients are properly labeled, identified, and stored in correct locations
• Maintain organized and clean batching and storage areas
• Verify ingredient availability and report shortages or discrepancies
• Follow all food safety, quality, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines
• Assist with stock rotation (FIFO)
• Communicate effectively with production and warehouse teams to ensure readiness
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and work areas

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, batching, or warehouse operations is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow written instructions and formulas precisely
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Work Environment:

• Food manufacturing or warehouse setting
• Exposure to varying temperatures and food ingredients
