Battlefield Elementary School Library Paraeducator - 25/26 SY

The Library Paraeducator will assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing administrative support to further enhance the efficiency and productivity of educational environments.

Essential Job Functions:

Library:

• Processes new books to ready them for the library
• Completes full inventory of library materials
• Repairs or handles discarding damaged library books
• Checks out, checks in, and shelves all library materials
• Performs classroom coverage as needed and acts as a substitute when librarian is unavailable
• Sends out notifications when books are lost or damaged and collects fines when necessary
• Participates in the set up and running of the bookfair

General:

• Greets incoming personnel, to include the check-in/out procedures of students, parents and other visitors.
• Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, taking attendance, ordering supplies, and basic troubleshooting
• Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty as assigned by the principal or designee

Education and Experience:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (185 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
