Business Development Executive / Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding
Job Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Business Development Executive / Manager to expand our customer base and drive revenue growth across international freight forwarding services. The role focuses on acquiring new business, developing strong customer relationships, and offering tailored logistics solutions across air, ocean, and multimodal freight.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
•
Identify, target, and acquire new customers in freight forwarding and logistics
•
Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline through cold calling, networking, and referrals
•
Promote air freight, ocean freight (FCL/LCL), and value-added logistics services
•
Prepare and negotiate pricing, quotations, and service contracts
•
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Customer Relationship Management
•
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients
•
Understand customer supply chain needs and propose tailored solutions
•
Act as the primary point of contact during onboarding and initial shipments
•
Coordinate with operations to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction
Market & Industry Intelligence
•
Monitor market trends, trade lanes, rates, and competitor activity
•
Identify new verticals, industries, and growth opportunities
•
Provide market feedback to management and pricing teams
Internal Coordination & Reporting
•
Work closely with pricing, operations, and customer service teams
•
Maintain accurate records in CRM systems
•
Prepare regular sales activity reports and forecasts
Experience & Skills
For Business Development Executive:
•
2–4 years of sales or business development experience in freight forwarding or logistics
For Business Development Manager:
•
5–8+ years of business development experience in freight forwarding
•
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
•
Existing customer base or strong industry network preferred
Core Skills
•
Strong understanding of air and ocean freight operations
•
Knowledge of Incoterms, trade lanes, and freight pricing structures
•
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
•
Self-motivated, target-driven, and customer-focused
Education
•
Graduate
Other Requirements
•
Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office
•
Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events
