BDO – Business Development Officer (Education Agencies & Partnerships)

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and target-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to lead the identification, research, and acquisition of high-quality education agencies, consultants, and institutions for strategic partnerships with our study-abroad and education portal.

The BDO will own the complete B2B partner lifecycle — from market research and pipeline building to pitching, negotiation, onboarding, relationship management, and retention. This role is critical for scaling our partner network, driving student lead revenue, and strengthening our position in the international education ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities (Job Description)

Market Research & Pipeline Development

Conduct in-depth market analysis of the study-abroad, test-prep, university placement, and vocational training sectors to identify new opportunities and trends.

Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of education agencies, consultants, and institutions using LinkedIn, industry databases, chambers of commerce, education expos, and other relevant sources.

Perform thorough due diligence on potential partners to ensure quality and strategic fit.

Sales & Partnership Development

Pitch the portal’s value proposition (verified student details, CRM tools, marketing support, attractive commission structures, and performance dashboards) to agency owners and key decision-makers.

Negotiate partnership agreements, commission terms, and SLAs to close profitable deals.

Achieve monthly and quarterly targets for new partner acquisitions and signed agreements.

Agency Onboarding & Activation

Manage end-to-end onboarding process for new partner agencies: account setup, profile configuration, and system integration.

Conduct training sessions (virtual and in-person) on platform features, lead management, reporting dashboards, and best practices.

Ensure high activation rates and successful go-live within the first 30 days of partnership.

Relationship Management & Retention

Build and nurture long-term strategic relationships with partner agencies through regular business reviews and performance discussions.

Proactively upsell advanced features and additional services to increase partner value.

Work closely with operations and support teams to resolve issues quickly and minimize churn.

Maximize lifetime value of each partner through consistent engagement and support.

Performance Tracking & Market Feedback

Track and report monthly KPIs: number of agencies approached, meetings held, deals closed, agencies onboarded, activation rate, retention rate, and revenue contribution.

Provide valuable market insights, competitor feedback, and partner suggestions to the product and leadership teams for continuous platform improvement.

Role Requirements (Qualifications, Skills & Experience)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, Education Management, or a related field. Master’s degree will be an advantage.

Experience

1-3 years of proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or partnership roles.

At least some direct experience in the education sector (study abroad, test prep, university admissions, or vocational training) is mandatory.

Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing education agency partnerships with consistent target achievement.

Skills & Competencies

Strong market research and analytical abilities.

Excellent pitching, negotiation, and closing skills.

Proficiency in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, etc.), and MS Office/Google Workspace.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and travel for client meetings and education expos when required.

High relationship-building skills and customer-centric approach.
