Beertender at The Thirsty Growler

The Thirsty Growler in The Colony, TX is looking for one beertender to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.

The Thirsty Growler is a taproom and growler station with 53 rotating taps of craft beer, hard cider, mead, kombucha, root beer, and cold brew coffee. We also offer a wide selection of wines. We do not have a kitchen. Customers are allowed to bring in their own food or have it delivered.

Since opening our location in 2016, our mission continues to focus on bringing people together through great beer. We seek a craft beer enthusiast with bar/restaurant experience to join our team of craft beer servers. You must have a passion for craft beer; the availability to work a flexible schedule (daytime, evenings, weekends, holidays); the desire to provide a great time to folks visiting the taproom; and personality/work ethic that is dependable, fun, friendly, energetic, authentic and a team player. ***Social media and marketing experience is desired.***

Responsibilities

• Assist customers, using knowledgeable guidance, in their selection growler fills, pints, and/or flights of craft beer and beverages.
• Interact with and educate customers on craft beer
• Operate the Point of Sale registers and opening/closing of day activities
• Maintain a clean environment with a high level of sanitation
• Restock inventory and supplies as needed
• Adhere to TABC guidelines and compliance laws
• Assist in sales opportunities and promotional events
• Ability to work any day of the week, day or evening shifts, and cover other server shifts as needed. Between 30-38 hours total per week.

Hours of operation:

• Monday: 2pm – 10pm
• Tuesday: 11am – 10pm
• Thursday: 11am – 11pm
• Friday and Saturday: 11am – 12am
• Sunday: Noon – 10pm

Qualifications

• Prior server / restaurant experience (preferably at least 2 years)
• Flexibility to take on BOTH weekday & weekend, day and or evening shifts
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Able to be on your feet for hours
• Texas Food Handler Safety and TABC certification is required before start of work
• Dress code: look neat, clean and professional at all times
• Able to read, write and communicate in English
• Comprehension of beer styles and a passion for craft
