We are seeking a Behavioral Consultant to join our team and support individuals and families through a person-centered, recovery-oriented approach. This position plays a key role in assessing mental health status, developing treatment plans, and connecting clients with community resources that promote wellness and resilience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise clients of available community resources and act as a liaison and/or advocate to help clients and families effectively access services
- Work collaboratively with clients and family members using a wellness- and recovery-based model to engage them in treatment pathways
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to assess individual and family needs
- Design care plans and service goals, incorporating additional resources such as community supports, home health, or hospice care when appropriate
- Assess clients’ mental health status and perform diagnostic evaluations, including securing medical histories and identifying and treating mental disorders
- Conduct assessments that meet standards for substance abuse treatment programs
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with other mental and social health agencies
- Document all assessments, client interactions, referrals, and services provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Complete all required reports and documentation in accordance with organizational and departmental standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
Education & Credentials:
- Master’s Degree in Social Services, Clinical Psychology, or related field (Required)
- BCBA Certification (Preferred)
Experience:
- Experience in Residential or Home Health settings strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare or mental health experience, including internships
- Familiarity with local behavioral health resources
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, peers, and supervisors
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and eagerness to engage with clients and team members
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while also planning for long-term goals
- Flexible schedule availability, including availability outside of traditional 9-to-5 hours
