Behavior Technician

Position Summary: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Program Implementer provides direct 1:1 or small group ABA therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The role focuses on implementing individualized treatment plans designed to increase communication, social, daily living, and behavioral skills while reducing challenging behaviors.

Hours: 8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday

Pay Range: $20-25/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment and behavior intervention plans as developed by the BCBA.
  • Collect accurate and timely data on client behaviors and skills using electronic based systems.
  • Deliver therapy in a variety of settings including clinics, homes, schools, and community environments.
  • Assist with program development by sharing session observations with the supervising BCBA.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Follow safety protocols and support clients in maintaining a safe environment.
  • Provide support during transitions and in daily living activities when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor for extended periods during therapy sessions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to move quickly and respond immediately to ensure client safety during instances of maladaptive behavior or elopement risk.
  • Capable of performing physical interventions in accordance with behavior support plans (with proper training and certification).
  • Comfort working in physically active and sometimes unpredictable environments.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred).
  • RBT certification preferred; willing to train and supervise for certification.
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs or developmental delays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a strong sense of empathy.
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain required clearances.
  • Dependable

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Must be available for a consistent weekly schedule (full or part-time positions).
  • Typically hours include opening and closing 8:00-4:30 pm.
  • Must be comfortable working with children who may display challenging behaviors.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
