Job Description: Behavioral Technician Level II (BT2)
Rowell Family Empowerment offers behavior skills programming across various environments (home, community, SIM Center, and natural environments) serving the lifespan. Instruction may occur in one-to-one and small-group formats. The BT2 is responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services for individuals with intellectual development disabilities and related developmental differences in a center-based behavior skills program.

Duties / Responsibilities:
- Always Work strictly within the scope of practice and under supervision.
- Follow all ethical standards outlined by the BACB and organizational policies.
- Seek clarification, guidance, and/or support from supervisors when unsure about procedures or client needs.
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Accept feedback and demonstrate responsiveness to performance-based coaching.
- Complete required ongoing training and competency assessments.
- Participate in required individual and group supervision in accordance with BACB requirements.
- Follow all center-based health, safety, and supervision procedures.
- Always maintain client dignity and safety.
- Participate in required safety, crisis management, and emergency response training.
- Accurately collect and record data on skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and treatment integrity using approved data collection systems.
- Implement continuous and discontinuous measurement procedures as trained (e.g., frequency, duration, latency, interval recording).
- Input data as required and report concerns regarding data accuracy or trends to the supervisor.
- Complete session notes, data entry, and required documentation accurately by the end of each client session
- Communicate relevant client information to supervisors timely and professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Skill Acquisition
- Implement individualized treatment plans as written using evidence-based teaching strategies such as functional communication training, Discrete Trials Training, Task Analysis, shaping procedures, and assent-based learning. Services are delivered under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Implement behavior skills training procedures as directed.
- Ensure instructional sessions are engaging, client-centered, and aligned with treatment goals.
- Execute client appropriate reinforcement and reinforcement schedules based on client motivation (e.g. conduct regular preference assessments, allow choice in learning opportunities, understand motivating operations and use effectively)
· Behavior Reduction
- Use proactive and preventative strategies to reduce challenging behavior (aggression, elopement, tantrums).
- Respond to challenging behavior safely, calmly, and ethically, including use of approved de-escalation strategies.
- Accurately document behavioral incidents.
o Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with fidelity, including antecedent strategies, teaching replacement behaviors, and consequence-based procedures.

Education and Experience:
· Education Requirement – Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis or a related field preferred.
· At least 2 years’ experience related to individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. [1]
· Registered Behavior Technician certification (or ability to obtain certification) preferred.
· Prior experience implementing behavior-analytic procedures with consistency and fidelity.
Physical Requirements:
· The ability to retrieve a fleeing client, as needed.
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking between rooms.
· Ability to kneel and/or squat down.
· Ability to reach above head level up to 5 pounds at times.
· Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds at times.
