Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and implementing behavioral therapy techniques for children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. The Behavior Technician will work closely with clients to promote positive behaviors, enhance communication skills, and improve overall quality of life through tailored interventions based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
Scheduling will be discussed during the interview; however, applicants should expect 30–40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities to promote skill acquisition and positive behavior changes.
- Collect and analyze data on client progress, ensuring accurate documentation of behavioral interventions.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality of medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine treatment plans as needed.
- Provide patient care that is respectful, compassionate, and tailored to individual needs.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral health and special education.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass DHS background check.
- Must be dependable, professional, and punctual.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working in a home-based environment.
- Ability to follow clinical guidance and uphold safety standards.
- Ability to commute, valid drivers license.
Preferred but not required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or a related field — or currently enrolled in such a program.
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Applied Behavior Analysis, Clinical Psychology, or a related field — or currently enrolled in such a program.
- Experience working with children with autism or related conditions
- Prior ABA or EIDBI experience
- EIDBI 101: Overview of the Benefit Training Certificate
- Cultural Responsiveness in ASD Services Training Certificate
- Coordinating Services and Supports Training Certificate
- Telehealth for Early Intervention Training Certificate
- Mandated Reporter & Vulnerable Adult Mandated Reporter certifications
