Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist

Helping Hands Behavior Therapy is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to provide 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for a child diagnosed with autism. This client presents with high levels of aggression, and we are looking for someone with the skills, patience, and experience to manage challenging behaviors effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement behavior intervention plans with consistency.
  • Comfortable and confident managing aggressive and challenging behaviors (training and support provided).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be reliable, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure.

Additional Information:
This position involves working closely with a child who exhibits high aggression, and applicants should be physically and emotionally prepared to support safety protocols and follow intervention strategies.

Registered Behavior Technician Responsibilities
Provide direct behavioral services to individuals either in home, at school, or in the community based on a plan written by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Record data using our web based collection system
Communicate with the families of your clients and assist in the training of these family members
Create a positive and productive environment when around clients and their families
Adhere to HIPPA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality
Pursue to better your skills as a technician in an effort to support your clients to the best of your ability

Registered Behavior Technician Requirements
High school diploma or educational equivalent
Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Certification as an RBT
Additional certification may be required
Relevant experience preferred
Able to maneuver and play with children and possible siblings
Strong verbal communication skills
Availability typical to a child's schedule

Registered Behavior Technician - Certification

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have completed high school-level education or equivalent
  • Pass a background check
  • Obtain 40 hours of qualified training
  • Successfully complete an RBT initial competency assessment

We provide in-home and clinic-based behavior therapy to greater metro Tucson, Arizona. We also collaborate with schools, train caregivers and have a clinic in central Tucson. Each Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) at Helping Hands Behavior Therapy has received training from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) who specializes in Natural Environment Training — a highly effective approach in applying therapy to real-world experiences. Through personalized programs and positive reinforcement, children participate in play-based learning activities supporting useful developmental skills. We promote independence in kids and adults, building on strengths and participation from schools and family members. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) encourages working alongside all other forms of support including but not limited to occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.75 per week
