Behavioral Health Billing & Admissions Coordinator

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Billing & Admissions Coordinator to join our healthcare team in a PHP/IOP serving neurodivergent adults. This vital role involves ensuring accurate medical billing, and coordinating insurance claims within a behavioral health setting, as well as managing patient admissions. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of billing procedures, and electronic health record systems, contributing to seamless patient intake processes and efficient revenue cycle management. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care delivery while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Duties

• Oversee patient admissions processes, verifying insurance coverage for out-of-network benefits and collecting necessary documentation to facilitate timely treatment initiation.
• Contacting insurance companies on behalf of the patients to establish Single Case Agreements and their daily reimbursement amounts.
• Oversee the submission of insurance claims, tracking claim status, and following up on denials or rejections.
• Conduct collections by following up on outstanding balances and coordinating with insurance and patients to resolve discrepancies.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain a database to track authorization end dates.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, clinical staff, and patients.
• Prior experience in behavioral health facilities is highly desirable.
