Behavioral Health Clinician - Marriage and Family Therapy

Clinician – Marriage and Family Therapy Overview:

The Clinician will provide direct intervention services to clients needing behavioral and mental health support specifically in the arena of marriage and family. This position will create assessments, treatment plans and provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and family members.

Job Type: Part Time or Full Time

Compensation: $30.00 - $34.00 – paid time off is part of the compensation package. Reports to: Clinical Manager

Essential Functions:

o Provide psychosocial assessments, treatment and discharge planning services to adults, adolescents and children

o Conduct individual, family and group therapy sessions

o Participate in treatment team meetings to report on progress and updates to treatment plans

o Maintain open communication with clients, families, agencies and coworkers

o Assist in the coordination of special projects

o Participate in mentorship of Clinical Associates

o Other duties as assigned

Certification, Licensing & Experience:

o Master’s degree in social work (MSW), counseling or public administration

o Two years of work experience advocating for at-risk populations preferred

o Experience working in a crisis setting

o Must be at least 21 years of age

o State of Alaska Background Clearance

o Must possess a National Provider Identification number (NPI)

o Valid Driver’s License

Skills & Abilities:

o Knowledge or specialized training with recovery from trauma is preferred

o Excellent oral communication and written documentation skills

o Ability to establish a good rapport with people of diverse cultures and belief systems

o Ability to effectively promote the purpose, vision and values of the agency

o Strong work ethic

o Ability to work independently with limited supervision

o Strong time management skills

o Working knowledge of Microsoft office

o Job specific training completed within three months of hire: Trust-Based Relational Intervention, HIPAA, Incident Reporting, and DHSS mandatory reporting

Physical Requirements:

o Reaching and lifting up to 10 pounds

o Sitting or standing for long periods

o Operating computer and other office equipment

o Insured vehicle
