Behavioral Health Crisis Specialist (START Coordinator)
Exodus Recovery, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and motivated START Coordinator to join our San Diego team. The START model is a strengths-based program supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and co-occurring mental health needs through collaboration, crisis prevention, and capacity building.
What You’ll Do
- Provide person-centered coordination and psychoeducational support to individuals enrolled in START services.
- Maintain an active caseload and facilitate cross-systems collaboration among families, providers, and community partners.
- Conduct intakes, assessments, and develop Cross-Systems Crisis Prevention and Intervention Plans.
- Lead and document support meetings, create START Action Plans, and provide outreach to homes, day programs, and vocational settings.
- Participate in a 24/7 crisis response rotation, offering on-call consultation and support.
- Complete START Coordinator Certification within 12 months of hire.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
- Preferred: Licensed or pre-licensed (Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Counselor, etc.).
- At least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with IDD and behavioral health needs.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Spanish bilingual skills are strongly valued but not required for this role.
- Comfortable working independently and in dynamic, multi-system environments.
- Willingness to participate in 24/7 crisis rotation (minimum one weekday overnight and one weekend per month).

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $68,640 – $74,880 (commensurate with experience)

Pay: $70,304.00 - $74,880.00 per year
