Behavioral Health Data Visualization Analyst (BHDVA)
Salary: $ 80,000-100,000
Welfare Research, Inc. d/b/a WRI Solutions is seeking one (1) qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Behavioral Health Data Visualization Analyst to support cross-bureau solution implementation projects.
The BHDVA will report and work under the direction of the Executive Director of Data and Digital Strategy. The Division of Mental Hygiene (Div. MHY) is focused on upgrading and modernizing its data and digital assets to deliver quality behavioral health care user experience. The Executive Director of Data and Digital Strategy is tasked to implement priorities directly related with modernization of MHY data infrastructure that is flexible & modular; easy to update; easy to understand; easier to make open source; easier to integrate with existing systems; easier to share & reuse and perform similar operations consistently. This new modern infrastructure should be future proof and support all proposed strategic plan activities articulated and enumerated in DOHMH work plans. Additionally, we aim to reduce manual inefficient processes. In our quest to democratize data access based on the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) principle. The Division of MHY will use proven best practices for project management to deliver projects on time and on budget.
The Data Visualization Analyst is expected to work collaboratively with staff, contractors, partner agencies, and stakeholders. The Data Visualization Analyst will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and visualization of all data used within the Div. MHY while remaining aligned with the mission and strategy of the division.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, manage, and deliver master project schedule for visualization of all MHY datasets so that they can be used by decision-makers easily
- Track and meet project deliverables and follow timelines, utilizing databases, spreadsheets, and other tools.
- Coordinate efforts within internal team and external groups, build and maintain stakeholder relationships by attending and participating in project team meetings and providing timely and on-going communication.
- Provide verbal and written project updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT, data engineers, researchers, evaluators, and analytics teams to integrate tools with the agency’s enterprise data systems while ensuring security and compliance.
- Drive the adoption of modern data visualization, storytelling, and publication technologies to make data accessible and actionable for internal and external audiences.
- Liaise with other Project Managers and staff on project efforts that span the work within the Division of MHY
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, decision-science, math, communications, information technology, or other related field with a minimum of three-years of experience with Power BI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automating data pipelines and workflows
- Self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Capacity to think strategically, critically, and develop proactive solutions to project challenges.
- Flexibility in working with new issues, topics, and approaches.
- Familiarity with web development, APIs, and other data integration technologies.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Power BI Certification
- Domain Knowledge of Behavioral Health
- Work experience in government
Relocation assistance not available.
Remote Work Policy: DOHMH employees working through WRI are allowed a Hybrid option post training and onboarding. Required work location for this position is in Long Island City, New York and you will be required to be in office three-days a week.
