Behavioral Health Nurse Coordinator (RN) - PART-TIME

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position will provide office/community-based behavioral health nursing services to adults and will have the primary responsibility of supporting the daily operations of the medical services department (psychiatry).
Service activities to include:
- Consults with the supervising PMHNP to ensure the most appropriate plan of care for persons served
- Provides supervision for two LPNs
- Collaborates with the medical scheduler to ensure patient completion of consent forms, receipt of information regarding medical history, current medical status, active medications and updating EHR medication profiles (including pharmacy information)
- Responds to all EHR lab requests/submissions and follows EHR protocols for reviewing lab tests and providing information to prescribers; assists patients as needed
- Facilitates communication with pharmacy partners regarding active patients and completes all required tasks per the partnership
- Completes a Psychiatric Nursing Assessment within 30 days of patient admission to medical services
- Administers psychiatric injections as appropriate to patient care plan
- Responsible for reviewing “no show” charts and determining appropriate follow up; coordination with the medical scheduler as needed
- Ensures the completion of prior authorizations and patient assistance forms by LPNs
- Responsible for collaboration with the supervising PMHNP to ensure compliance with Ohio Board of Pharmacy license
- Oversees ongoing medication reconciliation in the patient’s chart by the LPNs and advises prescribers of changes
- Facilitates the receipt of all psychiatric discharge summaries and updates medical staff
- Meets productivity requirement- 5 hours a day of billable patient-related activities
- Facilitates medical care coordination as appropriate to the care plan
- Engages in weekly Medical Services team meetings to support the effective treatment of individuals within an integrated care model
- Adheres to a positive team culture and promotes personal empowerment in the treatment process
- Attends all department meetings and maintains ongoing contacts with other collaborating providers to ensure optimal treatment outcomes
- Provides quality care through the provision of identified evidence-based approaches and interventions
- Participates in activities to promote the professional growth and development of staff (trainings, conferences, case consultation)
- Meets with the certified PMHNP weekly for supervision
- Maintains client documentation according to internal standards and external licensing standards per the scope of practice for RNs per the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as appropriate to the needs of the clients
- Participates in the agency’s continuous quality improvement process
This position reports to the PMHNP

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Qualifications:
Must hold an active, unencumbered Ohio RN license.
3 years’ experience in psychiatric/mental health treatment patient care required
Working knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in behavioral healthcare
Ability to work with individuals with diverse needs
Have an acceptable background check and driving record, valid driver’s license

Pay: $40.00 - $46.00 per hour
