DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Welcome and escort guests in the hospital lobby according to the standards and procedures of the hospital.
- Assisting main reception during busy periods and answering guests’ queries.
- Assists guests/patients upon arrival and departure with their luggage in a courteous and professional manner.
- Retrieves guest’s items from vehicles to transport items to patients’ suite or reception hall.
- Write, read, and matches luggage tags and ensure all luggage is correctly labeled, stored, and delivered.
- Receives, delivers, and collects newspaper and magazine to and from guests suites and hospital waiting areas.
- Ensure hospital entrances, lobby, and waiting areas are clean and presentable.
- Verifies, records, escorts incoming gift/luggage deliveries and permits only authorized people to bring things in with the help of Security.
- Communicating with supervisors and associates through telephone, e-mail, in written form, or in person.
- Reports guest complaints/concerns/feedbacks to immediate supervisors.
- Handles all incoming mails/parcels, documenting as required.
- Assist the valet drivers during peak periods and when necessary.
- Provides special assistance to those guests who are in need of a wheelchair or handicapped.
- Maintains a guest request log sheet daily.
- Handling wheelchairs and emergency equipments.
- Responding and acting during call of Emergency Codes.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:- Although we generally require and look for those with High School diploma, there are no formal education requirement to become a Bellman/Bellwoman, good people skills and physical strength are more important as a basis for this position.
- Newly-hired Bellman/Bellwoman will mandatory receive on-the-spot trainings that can last up to 3months.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:- Minimum of 1 year experience in similar position
- Computer Literate (knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel at least)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:- Ability to communicate verbally and written in English.
- Knowledge of Arabic language would be an asset.
- Experience working abroad is an advantage.
- Positive attitude and helpful manner.
- Must have a pleasant demeanor during stressful periods or when dealing with an impatient/irate guest.
PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED:- Pleasant physical appearance.
- Can at least push a 150-pound person on a wheelchair.
- Must be able to lift/carry heavy things.
- Ability to stand/walk for long/extended periods of time.
- Able to work on rotating shift.
