Job Purpose:
The Benefit and Leave Administrator is responsible for administering employee benefit programs and managing leave of absence requests in compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and plan requirements. This role serves as a primary resource for employees regarding benefits, leave, and related HR policies while ensuring accurate records and timely processing.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and wellness initiatives.

Coordinate annual open enrollment, including communication, enrollment processing, and employee support.

Serve as the main point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, resolving issues with insurance carriers and vendors as needed.

Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS and with benefit providers.

Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Manage all aspects of leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), workers’ compensation, and company leave policies.

Provide employees with required leave documentation, track leave usage, and communicate return-to-work expectations.

Partner with managers and HR leadership to ensure consistent application of leave and benefit policies.

Audit benefit invoices and leave records for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.

Maintain confidentiality of employee benefit and medical information in compliance with HIPAA and company standards.

Assist with benefit program evaluation and recommend improvements to enhance employee satisfaction and cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

7+ years of experience in benefits administration and/or leave management.

Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and related regulations.

Experience with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms.

High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
