Role: Analyst, Benefit & Payroll

Location: Remote

Travel: Up to 15%

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Manager, Human Resources

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience


About the role

The Benefit & Payroll Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of payroll, employee benefits, and leave of absence programs. You will be supporting benefit enrollment and maintenance, managing leave tracking in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations across multiple states.


Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, including tax withholding and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or agencies to manage tax registrations and resolve payroll tax issues.
  • Monitor and apply changes in payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and other employee benefit programs.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile benefits invoices and assist with vendor management.
  • Coordinate and administer employee leave of absences (FMLA, STD, LTD, parental leave, etc.) in compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
  • Track leave balances and documentation; serve as point of contact for employees on leave-related matters.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and leave policies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Partner with the HR team to deliver training or informational sessions on payroll and benefits topics.
  • Assist with additional HR projects as needed.
  • Comply with and hold with utmost regard all compliance requirements to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in multi state payroll
  • Benefits administration experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Rippling preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Remote work requirements

Internet capability must be a high-speed internet connection of 40 Mbps speeds or greater.


Physical requirements

Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to: moving or handling (lifting, pushing, pulling and reaching overhead) office equipment and supplies weighing 1 to 25 lbs. unassisted. Frequently required to sit for extended periods during the workday. Manual dexterity and visual acuity required. Must be able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.


Working conditions

Work will generally be performed indoors in an office environment. Must maintain a professional appearance and manner.
