The Nebraska Bankers Association (NBA) is a statewide leader in supporting Nebraska banks through advocacy, professional development, and member-focused services. As part of this mission, the NBA VEBA (Nebraska Bankers Association, Voluntary Employee Benefit Association) delivers high-quality, cost-effective employee benefits to participating banks across the state. The VEBA program is designed to simplify benefits administration, ensure accuracy and compliance, and enhance the employee experience for thousands of banking professionals and their families.

The Benefits Data Coordinator plays a foundational role in the success of the VEBA program by ensuring clean, accurate data across all systems and serving as a trusted point of contact for member banks and vendors.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-focused Benefits Data Coordinator to manage all aspects of VEBA enrollment data, eligibility updates, system maintenance, and client communications. This role ensures the integrity of VEBA data across databases and related platforms and supports banks and members through timely processing and proactive communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of VEBA enrollment data, including new enrollments, terminations, changes, and eligibility updates.
  • Maintain data integrity across NISIS and other VEBA systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Conduct periodic audits to identify discrepancies, resolve errors, and support compliance requirements.
  • Prepare annual open enrollment materials, templates, and communications for participating banks and VEBA members.
  • Assist banks in understanding data requirements, timelines, and best practices for accurate enrollment submissions.
  • Provide high-quality, responsive customer service to bank contacts regarding eligibility, data updates, and documentation needs.
  • Collaborate with Claims staff, carriers, and VEBA vendors to ensure timely data transfers and accurate system updates.
  • Cross-train with the team to support operational coverage and business continuity.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and support audit readiness activities.
  • Periodically travel to banks to help deliver benefits education, explain data processes, and strengthen VEBA relationships.
  • Represent VEBA with professionalism and clarity in member-facing meetings and educational sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Data/Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience with benefits administration, HRIS platforms, insurance operations, or related data-entry roles preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage sensitive timelines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service mindset and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
