In this energetic role, you will be joining the team responsible for the administration and management of our firefighter health insurance programs while ensuring seamless delivery and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. <Duties>
- · Provides notice of payroll changes to City Controllers and Pension Department.
- · Verifies payroll changes.
- · Provides billing notifications (member refunds, debits, and vendor credits).
- · Processes Life Insurance EOl's, beneficiary changes and Death Notices.
- · Creates payroll deduction schedule, retirement packets, purge files , take inventory of benefits supplies and restocks.
- · Assist in open-enrollment campaigns.
- · Prepares packets for recruit graduation and paticipate in class presentations.
- · Customer Service by assisting members with benefits inquires in person and by phone or email.
- · Resolve member issues and records discussions on Businessolver platform and reports daily issues.
- · Process Waiver or Premiums for Life Insurance and LTD claims.
- · Processes address changes, dependent eligibility, Wellness exams and undertakes other routine duties.
- · Assist the Administrative office as needed.
- · Performs other clerical duties, including without limitation, data input, scans shred documents, prepare and disperse mail.
- · Become well-versed in our benefit plans.
- · Strong Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
<Experience>
- Proven experience in benefits administration within a human resources environment; familiarity with systems like Businessolver, Workday, Oracle HCM, Sage, UltiPro, or SAP SuccessFactors is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, workers' compensation regulations, HIPAA privacy rules, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple HRIS platforms such as Lawson, ADP, Paylocity or Ceridian effectively for data collection and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefit options clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience handling payroll integrations and understanding of ERP systems like PeopleSoft or Kronos is advantageous.
- Skilled in data analysis techniques to interpret benefit trends and support decision-making processes.

Pay: $27.08 - $30.47 per hour
