Job Summary

The BESS Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Battery Energy Storage Systems integrated with solar, wind, or hybrid renewable energy solutions. This role involves hands-on technical work to ensure the reliable performance of BESS units, supporting Feroze Power’s mission to deliver sustainable and efficient energy systems. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical or Electronics and possess practical experience in energy storage systems, electrical systems, or renewable energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of BESS units, including lithium-ion batteries, inverters, and associated control systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Perform site assessments to verify compatibility of BESS with solar, wind, or hybrid systems.
• Support the commissioning process by conducting system tests, verifying connections, and ensuring seamless integration with renewable energy systems.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to implement customized BESS solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance monitoring of BESS units to ensure optimal efficiency and longevity.
• Perform diagnostic tests to identify and resolve issues related to battery performance, capacity, or system integration.
• Clean and maintain battery systems, cooling units, and enclosures to prevent degradation and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Utilize advanced O&M tools and technologies to optimize BESS performance.
• Document maintenance activities, including service reports, system logs, and performance metrics.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and software-related issues in BESS units, including inverters, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and communication protocols.
• Perform repairs or replacements of faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to warranty protocols.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for replacement parts or technical support when necessary.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including electrical safety standards, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards for BESS installation and operation, including NEPRA regulations and IEEE standards.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a zero-incident work environment.
• Provide technical support to clients, addressing queries related to BESS performance, maintenance, and energy savings.
• Assist in training clients or junior technicians on basic BESS operation and maintenance practices.
• Collaborate with the sales and consultation teams to provide technical insights during client assessments and project planning.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance schedules, and system performance data.
• Prepare detailed reports on BESS performance, including energy storage capacity, charge-discharge cycles, and efficiency metrics.
• Contribute to case studies and project documentation to showcase successful BESS integrations for marketing and client engagement.
• Support Feroze Power’s carbon-neutral initiatives by optimizing BESS performance to maximize carbon credits and reduce environmental impact.
• Stay updated on advancements in BESS technology, including smart storage solutions and next-generation battery chemistries.
• Propose innovative ideas to enhance BESS integration with solar, wind, or hybrid systems, aligning with Feroze Power’s commitment to technological excellence.

Requirements

• DAE in Electrical or Electronics from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in electrical or electronics systems, preferably in renewable energy or energy storage systems.
• Hands-on experience with battery systems (lithium-ion preferred), inverters, or renewable energy installations is a plus.
• Prior experience in solar or wind energy projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, circuits, and control systems.
• Familiarity with Battery Management Systems (BMS), inverters, and energy storage technologies.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems, including solar PV and wind turbines, and their integration with BESS.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs40,000.00 - Rs55,000.00 per month
