The Beyond Bias Foundation, based in Sacramento, California, is an international nonprofit dedicated to reducing bias, advancing equity, and empowering communities through education and leadership development.Our work is currently focused in Nigeria, where we have implemented transformative initiatives in partnership with schools and community organizations. Through workshops, mentorship, and scholarships, we equip young people with the tools to challenge stereotypes and reach higher than they ever thought possible. With a strong foundation of impact in Nigeria, Beyond Bias Foundation is now laying the groundwork to expand globally, bringing our message of equity and understanding to more countries and communities.

Position Overview

We are seeking passionate, globally minded leaders to join our Board of Directors. Board Members will help shape the strategic direction of the Foundation, strengthen partnerships, and guide our next phase of international growth. This is a meaningful opportunity to help lead an organization that’s actively advancing education and inclusion across borders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and governance to support organizational mission and sustainability
• Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual) and participate in committees as needed
• Support international fundraising, partnership development, and visibility efforts
• Serve as an ambassador for Beyond Bias Foundation in personal and professional networks
• Offer expertise to strengthen operations, programming, and long-term strategic planning
• Uphold nonprofit best practices in transparency, accountability, and impact evaluation

Qualifications

• Deep commitment to global social impact
• Prior board, nonprofit, or leadership experience preferred (but not required)
• Strong collaboration, communication, and advocacy skills
• Interest in international development, education, or community empowerment
• Expertise in any of the following areas is highly valued:
• • International nonprofit development
• • Fundraising and philanthropy
• • Education and youth leadership
• • Program design and evaluation
• • Legal, finance, or governance
• • Communications, media, or global partnerships

Term & Commitment

• Two-year renewable term

• Approximately 2-4 hours per month
