POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Beyond the Bell Football Fundamentals Instructor will provide support to the Wilson High School site coordinator by instructing students in the fundamentals of various sports during after-school programs for high school students. Please note that though the site coordinator may assign you to a specific sport, you may be required to support with running other BTB after-school programs, including but not limited to tutoring, instructing other sports, cooking classes and more.

As the Football Fundamentals Instructor you are expected to have effective communication skills; experience in playing and instructing Football; a strong understanding of the fundamental rules of Football the ability to keep students motivated and inspired; and the ability to coach students with patience, tact and good judgment within established BTB-Legacy LA guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist students with developing their mental fortitude, physical fitness, balance, speed, coordination, strength and flexibility
• Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and documenting students’ progress and performance; develop training plans based on students’ skill levels
• Collaborate with the coaching staff to create game plans and strategies
• Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices and games
• Assist in maintaining equipment and facilities used for training
• Foster a safe and positive learning environment
• Duties as assigned; Please note that you may be required to support with other programs or duties outside of the Fundamentals Instructor’s typical scope of work

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2 years of experience in playing and coaching sports; knowledge of football fundamentals required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of sports rules, regulations, and best practices
• Strong communication skills
• must be available Monday-Friday, 2:30pm to 6:30pm
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

SALARY: $18/ hr

JOB TYPE: Part-time, under 20 hours per week
