BigCommerce + Next.js Developer (Headless E-commerce)

Position: Full-Time / Contract

Location: Remote or On-Site (Flexible)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced BigCommerce and Next.js Developer with strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and Nginx server configuration to build and maintain a modern headless e-commerce storefront. The ideal candidate will help us develop a scalable, high-performance online store (similar to Lazurde.com) with seamless integrations, fast load times, and optimized checkout flows.

Key Responsibilities

• BigCommerce (Backend & APIs)
• Set up and customize BigCommerce store (products, collections, checkout, payments, shipping).
• Work with BigCommerce REST & GraphQL APIs for headless integration.
• Implement custom functionalities, apps, and extensions where required.
• Next.js (Frontend Development)
• Develop a headless storefront using Next.js/React with SSR (Server-Side Rendering) and SSG (Static Site Generation).
• Build responsive, pixel-perfect, SEO-friendly UI/UX.
• Integrate BigCommerce APIs into the frontend for dynamic product/catalog/cart operations.
• Optimize frontend performance (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse score).
• AWS & DevOps (Hosting & Deployment)
• Deploy applications on AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
• Configure Nginx as a reverse proxy, caching layer, and load balancer.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize server performance and security.
• General
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
• Ensure scalability, security, and long-term maintainability of the e-commerce platform.
• Stay updated with new trends in headless commerce, React/Next.js, and cloud technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience developing BigCommerce headless storefronts.
• Strong expertise in Next.js, React, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• Proficiency with BigCommerce REST & GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, RDS).
• Hands-on experience with Nginx configuration and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind/Bootstrap, responsive design.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker (optional).
• Understanding of SEO best practices and web performance optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience building jewelry, fashion, or luxury e-commerce websites.
• Experience with headless CMS (Contentful, Strapi, Sanity).
• Familiarity with other e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc.).
• Knowledge of serverless architecture and microservices.
