Bike Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and efficient Bicycle Repair Technician to perform service and repairs at our Cambridge Crossing Store and potentially perform both in-store and mobile repairs (with higher pay rate available to mobile technicians). In addition to non-electric bikes and mid-drive bikes, as we are an ebike focused store, a significant percentage of repairs will be for hub motor ebikes. Training will be provided for electrical work, diagnostics, as well as some of the particular challenges of working on ebikes.

Position Requirements:

• At least 2 years of professional bike mechanic experience in a retail shop
• Strong customer-facing customer service skills
• A demonstrated aptitude for speed and efficiency of work while maintaining quality. (Consistently complete a tune-up on a non-electric bike in about an hour, includes: a tune-up with all adjustments, off bike wheel truing, chain/cassette replacement, brake pad replacements, and frame cleaning).
• Ability to work in many non-standard environments (i.e. mobile repair or bike events)
• Generally pleasant attitude with a collaborative working style and professionalism in customer service
• While the vast majority of the bikes we handle are between 20-60lbs, you must be capable of lifting up to 90lbs

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
