Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare teams
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Document care activities meticulously, update care plans regularly, and ensure compliance with all healthcare standards including CPR, First Aid, and dementia or Alzheimer's specific protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings with a focus on senior or disability care
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with diverse clients and families
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling sensitive patient information confidentially
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift training or medication administration are highly valued
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, and memory care is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and the ability to respond quickly during emergencies or changes in condition
- Background check required
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
