Bilingual Credit Union Teller

GENERAL SUMMARY: The line teller’s main responsibility is to provide front line member service by completing financial transactions and giving account information to members either in person or via telephone. The following duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive as other duties may be required and assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides excellent member service.

2. Abides by Pikes Peak Credit Union’s policies as set by the Board of Directors including the Information Technology Usage Policy.

3. Responsible for complying with the various rules and regulations governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.

4. Accurately processes member’s financial transactions, including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, gift cards, and cashier’s checks.

5. Balances and controls teller cash drawer and negotiable items received and disbursed during daily transactions.

6. Assists and responds to members’ requests, problems, and complaints, and/or directs them to the proper credit union employee for assistance.

7. Examines checks for endorsements and negotiability, including verifying signatures and identifying payees.

8. Closes accounts when necessary.

9. Cross-sells credit union products and services.

10. Processes night deposits.

11. Processes cash advances.

12. Processes mail on a daily basis.

13. Operates phone switchboard.

14. Performs filing duties.

15. Maintains organization of supply area.

16. Maintains professional and clean appearance of teller line and teller station.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: The teller spends the majority of time standing at the teller line in a modern indoor office. Occasional time is spent traveling and working during irregular hours. Lifting of clerical supplies up to 20 lbs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Maintain knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and policies sufficient to answer member questions accurately, including check cashing and check hold policies. A line teller must also have the ability to handle monetary transactions while conversing and acknowledging the members.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Prior banking experience preferred but not required.

Six months of cash handling experience required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.74 - $24.51 per hour
