We are looking for a person that is empathetic and compassionate with families in need of services, due to their child being caught up in abusive situations. Family Advocates will work with families to conduct a needs assessment and will make referrals to our counseling department as needed. They will connect families to resources across our local area and will work to form relationships that allow families to feel confident in asking questions they need answered. Advocates will also be trained in how to deliver trauma assessments to the child victims we work with at the Center. This position requires that the staff member speaks English and Spanish.

We are looking for a long term fit for our CAC Family. We are housed in a beautiful new building with 19 staff members who are all working everyday to provide a brighter tomorrow for child victims.

Advocates will work on behalf of our families to develop special programs for our kids like "Summer Safety Camp"-day camp for one week in summer, Christmas Wish Program/Party, Back to School Bash and other fun events for the kids.

Advocates will share information and updates with our staff and multi-disciplinary team. This team is made up of Crimes Against Children Detectives, Prosecutors, Child Protective Investigations, Cook Children's Medical Center and Juvenile Services. Our kids are deserving of a staff that can pour joy, care and hope into them. If you feel passionate about helping kids move past trauma and feel you are highly motivated to create new programs that meet their needs, please send in your resume! We are in a beautiful new building on ten and a half acres and are just beginning to realize all the amazing things we can do here for our kids. You must be fluent in Spanish and English for this position.

Staff will be trained on using our case tracking software and on the delivery of advocacy services. Training will be ongoing in this position. Applicants must pass a criminal background check, child abuse registry background check and national sex offender registry check before being approved for hire.
