We are a patient-centered Internal Medicine practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to the Katy community. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Bilingual Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for our patients and sets the tone for their entire clinic experience.
Job Summary
As the Front Desk Receptionist, you will manage patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, and administrative support for our Internal Medicine clinic. You will ensure smooth patient flow, verify insurance, collect payments, and communicate clearly with our diverse patient population in both English and Spanish. This role requires excellent customer service, multitasking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally and check them in/out promptly in both English and Spanish.
- Answer high-volume phone calls, triage call reasons, schedule appointments, and relay messages to clinical staff accurately.
- Verify insurance eligibility, collect co-pays and balances, and explain financial policies to patients with clarity and empathy.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, and waitlists to optimize provider schedules.
- Update and maintain patient demographics and records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with accuracy.
- Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records requests as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk and waiting area while ensuring patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Support clinical team with administrative tasks, including scanning, faxing, and patient correspondence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical front desk or patient services role, preferably in Internal Medicine or Primary Care.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required — must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations and de-escalate concerns professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy clinic setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Must reside in or be able to commute to Katy, TX.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
