FronteraCare is seeking a mission-driven, adaptable BCBA to lead Initial Assessments in a fast-growing, technology - enabled environment. This role is critical to setting the clinical foundation for client success.
The Telehealth BCBA - Initial Assessments is responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations using telehealth and our proprietary video-capture technology, developing high-quality treatment plans, and ensuring clinical readiness prior to case assignment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, efficiency, comfort with innovation, and the ability to thrive in a startup culture where processes continue to evolve.
- Conduct comprehensive initial assessments using caregiver interviews, record review, direct observation (live or video capture), and standardized assessment tools.
- Utilize FronteraCare's video-capture technology to review sessions, analyze behavior patterns, and inform treatment planning.
- Develop individualized, data-driven treatment plans and behavior intervention plans aligned with medical necessity.
- Ensure all reports meet payer authorization standards and internal quality benchmarks.
- Prepare cases for smooth transition to ongoing BCBA and RBT teams.
- Maintain clinical documentation accuracy and timeliness.
Clinical Quality Metrics:
- Assessment report submission within 5 business days of final observation
- 95%+ documentation accuracy rate upon audit
- 90%+ payer authorization approval rate
- Less than 5% report revision rate due to quality concerns
- Serve as the clinical gatekeeper for new cases entering the organization.
- Provide clear case summaries and transition notes for assigned clinical teams.
- Collaborate with Intake, Scheduling, and Clinical Leadership to ensure efficient onboarding timelines.
- Provide feedback to leadership on system improvements, technology optimization, and workflow refinement.
- Adapt quickly to evolving processes and contribute to building scalable systems.
Leadership Metrics:
- Assessment-to-assignment turnaround within 10 business days
- 24-hour response time to internal communication
- Participation in clinical calibration meetings and case reviews
- Adhere strictly to the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and secure handling of video-capture data.
- Practice within scope of competence and seek consultation when needed.
- Ensure informed consent and caregiver understanding of assessment findings.
- Maintain active BCBA certification and required CEUs.
Required:
- Active BCBA certification in good standing
- Master's degree in ABA, Psychology, Education, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience working as a BCBA
- At least 1 year of Initial Assessment focused work preferred
- Bilingual English and Spanish
- Strong clinical writing and analytical skills
- Experience with telehealth and remote supervision
- Comfort with technology platforms and data systems
- Ability to work independently in a remote startup environment
- Located in NM, AZ, TX, FL, GA, ID, NV, UT, OK, or CO
Preferred:
- Experience in multi-state telehealth service delivery
- Experience with video-based observation analysis
- Familiarity with payer authorization processes
