Bilingual Medical Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of internal medicine, patient service, and basic life support, as well as familiarity with clinic operations and urgent care environments.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care in a clinic setting, including taking patient histories and vital signs
• Perform routine administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance information
• Support coding and documentation processes to ensure accurate billing and compliance with healthcare regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment to promote patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with medical staff to provide comprehensive care for patients, including those at a Level II Trauma Center
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and basic health maintenance practices
• Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to assist in patient assessments and care planning
• Respond promptly to urgent care situations while adhering to established protocols

Experience

• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
• Previous experience in a clinical or urgent care setting is required.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent patient service
• Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus
• Knowledge of coding practices related to internal medicine is beneficial
