We are seeking a multi-functional, bilingual medical assistant/phlebotomist for our primary care/internal medicine practice. We tend to look for applicants who have a strong long-term work history as longevity is what we are looking for. We have an amazing team! This is a full-time position from Monday thru Friday.
You will be responsible for the following functions:
- Primary role: back office medical assistant-rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting the providers, performing injections, ekgs, neb treatments, lab draws, etc. Returning patient calls to address questions and triage. Submitting electronic prescriptions. Maintaining inventory supplies.
- Secondary role: cross training on front desk check-in and check out duties (greeting patients, form completion, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payment, etc). We believe that an office can run extremely efficient if all staff is cross trained in all areas.
Requirements (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS):
- Bilingual (Creole or Spanish) required with ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Would prefer 1-2 years of experience in medical assisting (internal medicine preferred).
- eClincalworks experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience
- Experience with HEDIS and Care Coordination
- Must be able to multi-task with high energy and a smile.
- Have the patience and personality to be able to greet patients lovingly and exhibit great communication skills.
- Must be willing to be cross-trained in all aspects of the practice.
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to pass a "fit for work" or medical/physical screening and background check.
